Last Wednesday Michigan got hit with some pretty nasty storms and a lot of people lost power.  Thankfully we didn’t, but my parents and my sister’s family did.   My parents have a generator so their frozen food was still safe, but unfortunately my sister (like ourselves) don’t so she had to think about what she was going to do with all her frozen and refrigerated food. 

Thankfully we have an extra freezer in the basement and our refrigerator wasn’t full so she was able to bring all her stuff over and not have to worry about it.  I’m sure there were some people who didn’t have family member’s close buy that ended up loosing a lot of their food since some places they were without power for 3-4 days!  The news didn’t say, but I wonder if generators were flying off the shelves?

Are you prepared with a generator if you were with out power for a long time?  Or are you lucky like I am to have lots of family member’s within a 20 minute drive that would be able to store your frozen/refrigerated food for you?
