WARNING: Do NOT rent from George Gomez from Miami!!

Author: If you will be heading down to Florida and are looking for a place to rent, whatever you do, DO NOT rent from George (also will spell it Jorge at times) Gomez!! When we had found him he was on VRBO.com, but then they found out the truth about him and kicked him off. Then he informed me that he had a new website called Fineline Villas. Just so you know, he will take your money and tell you everything is ok, but when you arrive down in the Orlando area (not sure where else he might have places) you more than likely won’t have a place to stay as he will rent out condo’s/Villa’s that aren’t his! If you happen to find out that he is a scammer like we did and cancel before his deadline where he will give you your deposit back, He will promise to mail it, but I can guarantee you won’t ever see it since it’s been 5 months now and we haven’t see a penny of ours! Plus I just found out right now he has ANOTHER website besides finelinevillas.com it’s flvorlando.com, so STAY AWAY from there!!
I really wish we would of had travel insurance before booking that trip as maybe they would of been able to help us get our deposit back since the State of Florida has been failing us. We have contacted the authorities, attorney generals office, US Postal Service, and I don’t remember who else and no one has been able to help us. Of course with them letting this guy get away with this (We know of at least 10 other people this has happened to) it looses my faith in the State of Florida! You would think they (the state & Orlando) would be worrying about people not wanting to come back because of this kind of fraud.
Paul is now looking into suing this guy to get our deposit back. At this point he doesn’t care if it costs more than what we will get back, he just doesn’t want this guy to get away with this! So wish me luck that this creep (that is what he is in my book) will come to his senses and finally start paying us people back what we deserve!!
Updated part: I am at my parents house and did a search on him and came across Ripoff Report and there are FOUR other people on there as well that got scammed by this guy! If you know of a way we could take him down so he quits doing this, please let me know!!! Plus I want to add his email address in case someone does a search by that.. I just don’t want anyone else to fall victim to this guy! His email address is realmiami@aol.com

I found out Jorge/George Gomez has once again started ANOTHER website! Vacation Villages 4 Rent So stay far away from there as well!!!
4th update: Looks like he is letting some of his websites go as they aren’t active anymore. I wonder how I could find out if he opened up any new ones. I’m sure he has.
5th Update: WARNING!!!! I found him last night trying to rent things out on Craigslist!!! Even though I know we will never get our deposit back from him, as of July 11th 2008 we never did hear back from him nor saw our deposit like he had promised us!! I just don’t understand how he can sleep at night when he hurts people the way he has. (We know of at least 15 other families/owners that have been scammed by this person)
6th update!! As you can see from the last comment below, Mr. Gomez is now working at Home Florida Realty, Inc. and I also noticed that he once again has some ads on Miami’s Craigslist looking for owners so they can be their managment company. (That’s his other popular scam)
Update 7!!! As you can see below, Mr. Gomez has actually found my blog. I don’t know the whole story behind Allison & Jorge, but from what I have heard about Mr Gomez and the lies he wrote about paying kks & train lady back…. I would have to believe everything Allison said is true.
I find it funny that Mr. Gomez doesn’t even know what “train lady” or my name is. (which I assume that’s who he is talking about when he said kks).
I promise you everything I have written on here is the truth! The last time I had spoke to Mr. Gomez was July 11th and he had said he would call me every week to let me know what was going on and when he would be able to pay the $200 back. Needless to say I never heard from him again until today when he wrote on here.
We know of a lot of victims, but I can’t even imagine how many victims are out there that we don’t know since he has been doing this since at least 2004.
PLEASE be careful!

George called me on Sun June 22nd and said, he had guests and no where to put them. The rental they were staying in was foreclosed on. He asked if he could put them in my home until July 5th. He was going to give me part credit card and the rest overnighted. (he found my listing on vrbo.com) I told him to just overnight me the entire amount then. He never paid me and stopped answering his phones. The other website that is the same, but different numbers, informed me that he copied their website and has been asked to remove it. He finally answered his phone the other day, and said he is going to overnight me a check. I’ve heard it before, but we’ll see. If not, I will take him to small claims court for payment and or file a judgement against him.

Jorge is a scumbag. he took our money and ran like a little girl. I just wish there was a way to stop him, but it does not seem that way. Nice people like Jen and Paul got hurt after we did and there was no way to stop him. It seems it will never end. We to have tried all the agencies in the state of Florida but have gotten no where. I have been in contact with many others who are in the same position , from Canada to Pa, we all got taken as well as many many others I am now sure of. We will keep visiting our family in Fl. and enjoying the Magic kingdom, but we will be on the lookout for piece of crap, lowlife, scum like Jorge.
Anyone that rented from him and paid thru paypal can put a dispute in per paypal and try to get your money back. He put tenants in my home, so I have go another route-small calims for the $2240. he owes me, but I talked to paypal about his account. Do Not use http://www.flvorlando.com same as fineline villas!
I remember when I was trying to rent from him I asked if he had paypal and at that time he didn’t so we ended up mailing him a check. I wish we could of used paypal for that reason.. maybe they would of been able to help us.

Our company has also been scammed by George – he is also claiming his last name to be Edwards. Same story as all the rest – put tenants in our Encantada property for 5 weeks and never paid. Had seen our property on VRBO. I think we all need to share info and try to locate this guy.

Picture this….We arrive in Kissimmee Fl via the Auto Train from Virgina for Six weeks – and find we have NO PLACE TO STAY!!! After sitting in a McDonalds for hours he found a place for me for the six weeks BUT the owner came by after three days and said I have to pay to stay because Jorge did not send the money. Also I couldnt stay the entire time as the house had already been rented. I paid her the additional money so we would have somewhere to stay. Two days later my other family came down, again by Auto Train, and ….NO PLACE for them to stay! He get them a house – he said for five weeks and then would move them for the last one BUT the owner of that house called and said they had to leave after one week! So there we are in Kissimmee with children, husbands and grandparents and NO PLACE TO STAY. Lucky for me I fould a management with the help of the front desk at Emerald Island and I was able to rent a house for the rest of my 5 week stay. Oh and insidently….Jorge has just called her trying to rent a unit at Emerald Island for Five Weeks. He said he would pay her at the end of the week….Lucky for her she said NO. You think that call was for me??? My other family had to find a home to finish their vacation. We are out $3600.00 each. Add us to this list!!!!
I have had VERY similar dealings with him. Only we did have a place to stay when we arrived but not what we had purchased. Fortunatly I used my American Express credit card disputed the overcharged amount. That is what I love about AMEX..so easy to dispute charges that are not legitimate! Thank you so much for your warnings. He wanted to rent out our villa and it sounds like we would never have been paid. It is very important to us that our guests have a great vacation and I research anyone we deal with. Hopefully other vacationers and villa owners will read and heed your warnings. I feel so badly for people who have had their vacations ruined and villa owners who also have been scammed.

He stole my initial deposit on an offer that he suposedly presented on my behalf. I never got the rental porperty and he disappeared with my deposit. He is a total and complete scam artist, I do not even think that he has a valid real estate license. Because is does not show under myfloridalicense.com as registered to homefloridarealty.com. His number is 786-416-2989 and his email is realmiami@aol.com and he goes by the name of Jorge Gomez
He stole my money and will not answer my calls, when he does he hangs up on me or tells me he is busy and promises to call back but never does. I think that he is committing a felony under florida state law. If anyone is interested in getting together to prosecute this guy please contact me at allison.69@hotmail.com

Jorge… all of us have wrote and called you to try and get our money back, but you either don’t answer the phone or emails or say you don’t have the money yet like you did with me (you told me you didn’t have the $200 yet and would call me every week until you could pay me back. Once again Jorge… I (along with some of the others) did not pay via paypal so we never would of gotten our deposits back via paypal. You were suppose to of written us a check and mailed it to us since that was how we paid you. Never once did you have our credit card number and at that time you didn’t have a paypal account set up because that’s how I had wanted to pay you.
jorge, i did not pay with pay pal, u cashed my post office money order. when i talked to Encantada and the owners of bay lily loop they told me about your scam.. i contacted you, and u sent me an email i still have that told me they were liars, everyone is a liar but you. you then told me you would not give me my deposit back. i know of at least 6 people u have scammed so you are the liar. and the authorities know what you are. so you can run scared but sooner or later you will be caught and punished. we are not the wrong ones here you are. you want names, for what? the police have the names and we are all very happy to tell them what we know. you took 250.00 from me for a deposit on a condo at encantada that was not there, i let them know what happened, they told me you were a scammer, vrbo took down your ad and contacted everyone that contacted you through them. thats how the others found out what you were doing. the time is near and they are coming after you. and we will all have the last laugh. i contacted the authorities in FL and a detective talked to you and you promised her you were going to send me back my deposit and never did. you are a liar and a thief. you know who i am, u have my email, so dont give me your s–t.. you took my money, no ifs and or buts, and i know of many others… keep telling yourself and us you are not a thief at least you might believe it… we know the truth…
just to remind you i have every email from october when i first contacted you right through to the end.as well as emails from other people you scammed, owners of condos,the people at vrbo, and others. and now the authorities have copies along with your signature on the reciept of my money order from the post office. i guess that would be considered postal fraud as well as internet fraud, and postal fraud is a federal crime.. federal prison..hmmmm you would be mighty popular there, from tight end to wide reciever in no time, i just love football don’t you?
We are sorry to hear what everyone has gone thru with this scumbag. It really gives the vacation rental by owner industry a bad name. Fortunately, he is the exception. You don’t hear these horror stories often.
