Is that a toy?
By looking at the picture, I bet a lot of you will be thinking Kevin must of got a toy helicopter for his birthday since it’s so small. Kevin did get a helicopter, but it’s not just a helicopter. This little helicopter is actually a remote controlled helicopter.
According to thinkrc.com this is the worlds smallest and lightest 3 channel helicopter. It’s design is for indoors only and I’m thinking the reason why it’s for indoors is because of it being so light weight. I bet if any wind came along, you wouldn’t be able to control it as much.
The kids and I were really excited when it came in the mail. Kevin wanted to operate it so bad, but I wanted to figure it out first before handing the controls over to him. I looked all over in the box and on the box, but wasn’t able to locate any directions, so my thought was this will be a trial and error thing.
After putting 6 AA batteries in the remote controlled part I turned on the helicopter and you should of seen it light up. The kids & I got so excited at that point because we knew we were getting close to take off. That’s when I started playing with it, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to have it go up in the air. It would go all over on the floor, but matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to go up. I was getting tired of seeing it crash into the cabinets in our kitchen so I thought of taking it out in our garage since the truck wasn’t there and maybe then I could get it to go up. I tried, but again no luck so I went inside to call my sister to ask her, but by the time I went back in the garage the helicopter wasn’t working at all anymore so I assumed I would have to recharge it.
Recharging the helicopter was a little tricky, at least for me. You had to carefully plug the remote control to the helicopter. It sounds easy, but I was having a hard time lining it up. According to the website it’s only suppose to take 15-20 minutes for the helicopter to charge, but after that amount of time mine still wouldn’t light up. I even left it on most of the day, but still nothing. I have a feeling I’ll be taking it to Sunday dinner at my parents so my 12 year old nephew can teach me how to run it.
Hopefully my nephew can figure it out, otherwise I’ll be on the search for remote control helicopters as that’s the one thing Kevin had wanted for his Birthday/Christmas.
