Why do they have to put black rubber on your computer mouse?

A couple years ago I ended up having an allergic reaction to something (eyes were swelling) and had no clue why.   It was then that my best friend jokingly said “Maybe you’re allergic to your laptop” as I had just bought it a week earlier.  I said no as there wasn’t any rubber on it (I’m allergic to black rubber) but then realized the wireless mouse I had bought to go with it had rubber on the sides.  So here I would use the mouse and the rub my eye.. hence that was why my eyes were starting to get all puffy and miserable looking.

Thankfully I was able to get on some drugs and my dermatolgist gave me some of the best eye cream out there (don’t remember the name of it) as it was suppose to help too.  Thankfully it did and my eyes got back to normal.   Since then I’ve gotten used to not having a mouse so I no longer need a wireless mouse, but I still will always check them when I go past them in the store and am amazed that they no longer seem to carry any without the rubber.   I’m amazed at how many other things are now having rubber added to them… even your wii controllers have the rubber around them too.  So no playing wii for me.

Is it a sign?

Do you believe in signs?  No, not stop signs, or yield signs, but signs like you’re debating on switching martial arts schools to have your Dad end up running into the owner of the place you were considering and ended up getting a buy a month get a month free coupon.  Now to me that was a sign!

Today I have a feeling I am having another sign about something.  Just the other day I thought I should one of my exercise videos that kicks my butt and to me is one  of the best fat burning exercise DVD’s.  Then today I ended up having 2 of my friends on facebook said something about that exact dvd!     Maybe it’s time to dust it off and put it in the DVD player and watch my tears start coming down my face again.  (You know how tough Jillian is on tv, that’s how she is on the DVD too!)

All Natural

Taking medicine always worries me as I can’t help but think of what chemicals I am now putting into my body, but when I’m sick and feel like I could die I usually don’t care as I just want to feel better.   But when it comes to other things like for example trying to get rid of nasty ol’ acne I would rather try something like pronexin which is suppose to be all natural and can clear up some acne in 72 hours!  I just love finding the all natural products that can work just as fast as the kind with all the chemicals.

Back to old habits

Why is it so easy to fall back into your old bad habits? Last year Paul ended up going to the doctor and had his blood drawn to see if there was anything that was causing him to be tired all the time. The doctor informed him that he needed to start eating better by eating more fiber among other things. I was so proud of how he started switching his ways, but all of a sudden I’m catching him stopping at the grocery store on the way home from work with foods he doesn’t need. (like cookies, chips, pop.. etc) Since he isn’t eating the way he is I’m wondering if I should find what the best multivitamin for men is and someone get him to start taking that.  Maybe he will once again start feeling better and won’t be dealing with insomnia again since I know last time he was like this his B12 levels were low.   Now how do you get a stubborn man to take something that would be “healthy” for you?

Cheap ways to burn calories.

Everyone always wants to find out what the best weight loss product is, some say taking diet pills, while some people say just watching what you eat and exercising.   While most people think you need to have treadmills, stair steppers, ellipticals, that sort of things, but the best and cheapest thing you could do to burn those calories is to either put on  your gym shoes and go for a walk or a jog, or maybe jump on your bike and go for a bike ride, put on your swimsuit and hit the beach or better yet, turn on those tunes while cleaning and dance while doing it!    You don’t have to spend lots of money to start burning those calories.

Who would of known?!?

Do you ever look back at things you have done in the past and think wow… who would of known?   That’s how my friend & I feel regarding the “good ol’ days” when we used to go out to the bar every weekend.   While most people think going to the bar would be unhealthy as it’s a lot of drinking & smoking, my friend and I think about how it was also quite the fat burner for us.   Let me guess… you’re looking at my post with a puzzled look, but let me explain!  Most of the time my friend and I would go to the bar (99% of the time it was a country bar) we would spend a majority of the time out on the dance floor doing our line dancing.   Some of those dances were so exhausting that when we would finish the whole dance we felt like we really accomplished something.   Now that bars are smoke free, I can’t help but think how now if we would go it would be as if we were going to an exercise class since you don’t have all the smoke floating around the room.   To bad bars weren’t smoke free back then, just think  how much healthier it would of been for us!

Wouldn’t it be nice….

I just had to laugh when I saw an advertisement saying you can lose a pound a DAY on a diet called the hcg diet!   As wonderful as it sounds to be able to be down to my goal weight in just a few months, I can’t believe that this “diet” would be healthy for you.  Even if you lost the weight that fast, I can’t help but think you would end up putting it right back on due to if you have a lot of weight to lose like I do, you need a lifestyle change, not just a quick “miracle drug”.

Ugh… I hate stuffy noses

I guess it’s time for me to start pulling out the nasal spray as I must of been around something this weekend that I was allergic to since my allergies are kicking in and now my nose is quite stuffy.   I know my doctor had recommended getting some allergy bedding and we did, but maybe it was just the kind we bought, but it was way to noisy for Paul as every time he rolled over and heard the crinkle sound it would wake him up. So needless to say it didn’t stay on to long. Paul’s of me wonders if I should looked at some new kinds. I’m sure there are a lot quieter ones out on the market now.   Do you  have any allergy bedding?  If so, which kind do you have and do you find it to be noisy or quiet.

Running

This weekend Grand Rapids ended up having their big race, the 5/3rd Riverbank Run and even though I didn’t run I was thrilled to hear that this year they had the most runners ever!   I can’t help but think are that many more people running because of the economy?   With people loosing jobs, I can’t help  but think that they decided to quit paying for gym memberships and diet pills and are now just doing exercises they can do around the house/neighborhood.  Like walking, running and bike riding.  I know I’ve seen lots more people out and about doing things than I have in the past and I wonder why…. that’s the only reason I can come up with.  They want to lose weight and instead of buying expensive gym memberships, they buy a pair of gym shoes and hit the road!

I am excited to say that a cousin of mine did end up running the 25k and finished 63rd in his division with a time of 1 hr 49 minutes and 27 seconds!!    Way to go Darrin!!!   We are proud of you!!

Health & Economy

Do you ever sit back and wonder things? That’s what I do sometimes and I will try to google the answer, but sometimes I just cxan’t find the answer. One of the things I can’t help but wonder is it seems like I keep seeing more and more people either walking, riding bikes, or jogging. So my question is, with the economy still not doing good, do people tend to get healthier by not eating as much and going out enjoying mother nature (exercising) instead of spending money on fat burning pills?   Or do people not care about the price of pills, just as long as they are loosing weight?
