Why does it seem that when a holiday comes, please tend to over eat? Let’s start with New Years, while we might not actually eat a lot, people do drink a lot that night (or should I say the night before)… then you have Valentines day where you tend to go out to eat and buy chocolates. July 4th is usually spent grilling and eating hamburgers, chips, potato salad, baked beans, and can you say CANDY thanks to the parades? Halloween equals more candy, Thanksgiving equals big turkey dinners and Christmas equals tons of parties and you know there is always food involved there as well.

I always wonder if the diet supplement or exercise companies tend to find an increase in sales after the holidays? I can’t help but think people probably google things like hcg diet plan, Atkins diet or best exercise equipment after they spend a holiday gorging.

While looking for a Sunday Meme to do.. I ended up coming across Straight Out Of the Camera from Murrieta 365. It’s actually quite fun because it’s another picture meme where you can show off what pictures you have taken. The only thing is you can’t do any tweaking or altering, but that’s ok with me as I usually don’t do that anyways.

I ended up getting a new camera this week and have had so much fun taking pictures with it, I hope you don’t mind that I have more than 2 picture.

Since it seems like men are less apt to remember special days when it comes to women, I thought I would just put a friendly reminder out there that tomorrow is Mother’s Day. While they show commercials of Mom’s getting jewelry, cars, fancy things like that you don’t have to spend a lot to let your Mom/wife know how much you appreciate her. Think of things that she likes, what’s her favorite flower? Favorite Food? What does she like to do when she has ME time? Go from there…. my husband knows that I love the smell of lilacs so he went over to his friends house and had the kids pick me some and they put it in a pretty vase for me. (Yes, I already got my Mother’s day stuff since Paul works tomorrow) Then they went to the store to pick up some strawberries for tomorrow and while he was there he picked up some organic tomatoes as he knew I had one the other day and LOVED it. BLT’s… YUMMY!!! Even though he can’t stand tomatoes, he was willing to make me one as he knew that’s what I like.

Just a little piece of advice… if your spouse is going to be a mom or just became a mom, don’t buy her things like stretch marks creams, instead buy her something to make her feel a little extra special. That’s when you go out and buy that beautiful bouquet of flowers and maybe a little extra something would be nice too. (Like a mother’s necklace)

Whatever you do, DON’T forget to wish your Mom a Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow!

I’ll give you a hint…..

Did you figure it out? If you live in one of the “fun” states like me I’m sure you know.. that would be today is Daylight Saving Time. Back in 2007 they changed it and Daylight Savings Time now happens every 2nd Sunday in March @ 2:00 am! So at 2:00 am you are to “spring ahead” your clocks to 3:00 am!

Because of us springing ahead last night we tried getting the kids to bed an hour early and thankfully they went down to problem, the only thing is they actually slept in to 9:00 (which used to of been 8:00). Today it wasn’t a big deal if they slept in, but I can’t help but wonder what Tuesday will hold when they have to wake up early for school. (They both go to school on Tuesday & Thursday) Most mornings Kevin complains of having to wake up early those days in the first place, I can’t imagine him waking up on Tuesday. I’m thinking tomorrow I’ll make sure we wake up early and I have a feeling he will be getting a hard work out at Karate that night as his instructor went to a seminar this weekend and already wrote saying he can’t wait to show and teach the students everything he’s learned. Maybe, just maybe, if that happens Kevin will go to bed no problem when we get home!

Is there anything you do to get your little ones ready for Daylight Saving Time? Just think.. November 7th we will get to “fall back” again so we can sleep in!
