Christmas gift!!
For Christmas we end up getting our kids 4 things. (3 because that’s how many Jesus got when he was born and then for now 1 from Santa) That way it controls me and I won’t go over board spending money foolishly.
I’ve already been trying to think of what to get them for their Birthdays (Kevin’s is in November and Katie is in December) and for Christmas. I ended up finding the movie Cars bed sheets at Dollar General on sale for $5! They had 2 sets left so I got one for Kevin & one for Katie. So one present is done!!
Then tonight while the kids were watching Beauty & the Beast and I was doing dishes I thought of what their BIG present might be! I’m so excited and can’t wait to run it by Paul. Our thoughts for next February is to visit my parents for a week and also to go to Disney World for a week and hope that Paul’s parents can come up and visit us so we wouldn’t have to go farther south. Anyways, I was thinking… maybe for their big gift Cinderella could send them a card or something that will invite them to Breakfast or Lunch at the castle!!! I always said it would be to $$ for us to do that, but with the money I’ve been fortunate to make blogging I already have enough saved up where we could do it!! It’s not as if the kids need anything and I have a feeling this would mean more to them than anything else I would get them.
Have you ever gone to Disney and dined with the characters? If so, who did you dine with and did you think it was worth it? Would you do it again? If you were to do it, who would you dine with? How early did you have to make your reservations?

Them little stinkers!!
So the kids wake up this morning and I hear them run to where I thought was the living room and then both of them back to Katie’s room. I thought how nice, they are actually playing great together!! Maybe it’s going to be a good day, at least it’s a great start to the day.
Then Katie walks in and says I got a sucker! Then I knew… Kevin found the stash of candy from the 4th of July parade and for breakfast they are mowing on it! Needless to say the bag is now moved, but it was nice to see them teaming up together like that instead of fighting like they usually do.
Company Party Pictures ~ Warning… LOTS!
Last weekend we had Paul’s work party and I’m finally getting around to posting the pictures from it!! His work doesn’t treat their employees the best, but I do have to say this is the one nice thing they do for them all year.

Kevin & I on the camel (1st time I’ve ever rode a camel!!)

Us on the elephant!! (The first time I ever rode one.. the kids did it with Paul last year)

Now I have 2 firemen and 1 firewoman!

Um.. yeah.. .Kevin was having the time of his life!

Katie going down the slide… needless to say she was a little scared and didn’t want to do it again.

Paul with Kevin’s fire hat. (He will kill me if he knows I posted this! LOL)

Kids on the ferris wheel! Their 1st ride w/out mom & dad.

I wish they were smiling, but you sure can tell they are brother & sister here!

Katie getting her caricature done.

Katie not quite knowing what to do at the easter egg hunt.

Kevin doing his thing… he actually ended up winning a $10 gift certificate!!! WTG Kevin!

Enjoying their Superman Ice Cream! Yummy!
Walks and Bike rides
When you go out for a walk or bike ride, do you ever take your cell phone and some kind of ID with you? I usually will bring my cell phone, but this morning when I took the kids to a local park I didn’t and really wished I had. There was a guy there all by himself that was really creaping me out, so much it made us leave. He hardly talked to me as he was busy talking with Kevin & Katie wondering what their names were, wanting them to play up on the playground equipment with him. Then at one point he was telling Kevin how pretty his mom was. That’s when I knew lets get the heck out of here so I told Kevin & Katie we were suppose to be leaving to go see Mr Todd (Paul’s friend) who doesn’t live to far from there. Kids left no problem, but as we were leaving he said he hoped to see us there again because usually there isn’t anyone to talk to.
Everything about him makes me wonder if he was the peeping tom that was in our neighborhood a few months ago? The description matches to a T and he did leave our neighborhood on bike. Now I’m waiting for my neighbor to get home (the one who got peeped on) so he can see the picture I took of this guy. It’s not the best picture, but my neighbor got such a good look of the guy that he would know right away if it’s him or not. Part of me really hopes it’s him as I would love to of maybe caught the guy, but if it is him that just freaks me out that much more knowing a creap was that close to my kids. Just makes me want to stay home now which is sad.
Kids first dentist appointments
You know it’s bad when you take your kids to the dentist for the first time and the dentist tells you that you might want to start a slush fund because both kids will end up needing braces down the road. They don’t have much room in their mouths so when the big teeth start coming in it’s gonna get REALLY crowded. I could tell that was going to be the case by looking at their mouth, but when she says to start saving now for it you know it must be quite pricey!!
More bike riding for us.
Well, I think this will be the summer that the kids and I do a lot of bike riding. Of course there really is only 3 destinations we can ride to. Grandma & Grandpa A’s, the park and to the new ice cream shop.
I love living out in the country, but there are times I wish we lived closer to town. Like now for instance sine gas shot up to $4.19 and supposedly there is no end in sight for the price increases. It would be nice to jump on the bike with the kids in the bike trailer and be able to ride up to the grocery store. But since the prices are already that high I think the kids & I will be staying home a little bit more.. hence the more bike riding. I know we will end up getting cabin fever and will want to get out so riding to the park & ice cream store will be our outings. (Except for the grocery store, Library and to church & my parents on Sundays)
Have you gotten your bike out yet? Do you live in the city where you can actually ride your bike to places or are you in the rural area where there really isn’t to many places where you can ride to?
What a fun weekend
As I’m writing this, I’m at my parents house and my kids are outside playing with their cousins so needless to say I’m enjoying my quiet time.
Yesterday was such a nice day. Kevin and I went and went shopping at some garage sales and found some cute clothes for Katie and a never been worn Johnny Benson racing hat for Kevin! We came home, had some lunch and then the four of us hit the road. I pulled Katie in the bike trailer while Paul and Kevin rode together with the Tag Along bike. (Very wise investment.. of course it helps I got it for $20 off Craigslist!) We ended up going for a bike ride up to the new ice cream shop and each enjoyed an ice cream cone before heading over to the school next door to play on the playground. When we got home Katie & I went to Meijer’s to get some more milk since it was on sale (along with some other things) and I decided to see how long out bike ride was. Found out we went 7 miles!! Not bad considering Kevin did pedal most of the way. Then at night the kids & I ended up walking over to Paul’s parents house and stayed there for a little while before we headed back home so the kids could take their baths and hit the hay since we had church this morning.
Today we went to church and I found out that the Children’s class was canceled and was only for the 2nd service so Kevin had to sit with me. Needless to say that was a little stressful for me as Kevin isn’t one that likes to sit still to much.
Now we are over at my parents house and my sister will be leaving soon with her kids and when that happens I think I’ll let my two take a nap here as I already hear Kevin and can tell he is tired. On that note.. I better go.
I hope you are having a great weekend too!
