Free Photo Book!

Ever since I made my first photo book online I’ll admit I got hooked.  Now instead of printing off pictures I have fun just uploading pictures and making my photo books online and having them shipped to my house.

Even though I never used Shutterfly yet (as you can see I said yet) I have had great experiances with other photo book places and I would think they are all the same.

Just today I got an email from Shutterfly letting me know about their special and I thought I would share with my readers since after all it’s FREE!   Link to deal

You can get a FREE* 8×8 photo book with hard cover ($29.99 value) if you just use coupon code SPRINGDEAL.  (Offer expires March 10th)

 * Offer valid for one time redemption per member per household. Offer valid for one free 20–page 8×8 photo book with hard cover. Any additional pages will incur a per–page fee. Offer not valid for licensed premium photo books or leather or padded books. Taxes, shipping and handling will apply. Enter promo code at checkout

So if you never tried making a photo book, right now would be the perfect time to do it!  I’m thinking it might be fun making a book for Kevin with all his karate pictures!   If you plan on taking advantage of this deal, what will your book consist of?

It’s a little early isn’t it?

So the past week I’ve been doing a little bit of shopping due to Kevin’s birthday coming up next week.  What have I noticed since Halloween?!?  (Some stores was even before)  I think every store I’ve gone to has their Christmas decorations and artificial christmas trees out already!!  In one store I even heard one Christmas song playing on the radio as well.  Here I thought it was bad having this stuff coming out around Thanksgiving, but now they have it all out around Halloween… what’s next?  Will they start putting it out with the back to school sales?!?

Birthday party stuff bought… check!

Yesterday Katie and I did a little shopping as I had to find Kevin a mouth piece for his martial arts as he was going to start sparring that night.  While we were out I had found some really cute pirate plates and napkins on clearance at target and since Kevin is going to be a pirate for Halloween I thought for his birthday we could just keep with the pirate theme since in February he will be getting a pirate makeover at Disney world.

It’s then that I remembered someone on my disboard saying that Michaels was having a 70% off sale on all their pirate & princesses party stuff.  So Katie and I went there after target to see what kind of deals we might find there.  The sign said 70% off, but the “clearance” price on the item was no where near 70% off the original price.  I looked all over the store in hopes of finding one of those barcode scanners, but do you think I could find any?  NOPE!   I guess I never realized how often I use them until you need one and there isn’t one to be found.

I ended up getting a package of pirate cookie cutters (8 of them) and a package of princess cookie cutters (8 of them) with 2 packages of princess plates and 2 packages of princess napkins and a container of those glow sticks for $12!  I thought making and decorating cookies as favors for their birthday parties would be fun for the kids.

I just love being able to find things that I will need to buy later on in the year on clearance.  Some people may not like buying things way ahead of time, but if I’m going to be saving some money, I’ll do it!

Deal on Little House on the Prairie DVD’s!

I was shopping online the other night and found to good of a deal to pass up on The Little House on the Prairie DVD’s!

My kids and I all love renting them from the library, but unfortunately we have only seen season 2 & 3. This summer on ebay I was lucky to get season 1 at a good price, even though it was used. Well the other night I was on Amazon.com and while shopping I found that most of their seasons are priced right now at $19.94!! That’s 51% off the normal rate!  So needless to say I ended up buying season 4! (since we can get 2 & 3 at the library)  Part of me wonders if I shouldn’t of bought more seasons for Christmas’s to come as that’s the cheapest I’ve ever seen for them.

The great thing about Little House on the Prairie is that it is a well written family show!  You don’t have to worry about the occasional slip of a swear word here and there or having your child see something you would rather them not even though it is a “family show” like you see on today’s tv.    It’s amazing how much tv shows have changed since I was a kid.  I would be so nice to have shows like this back on the main stream media again, but until then at least we can buy these!

Restaurant.com’s big sale!

I just thought I would give you a heads up on a great deal at Restaurant.com

If you Enter discount code: SURPRISE at checkout and hit apply, you will save an additional 80%!!! Offer is only valid until 11/24 at 12:00AM PST.

So if you live in the Grand Rapids area, you could buy a $25 gift certificate to Great Lakes Shipping Co (I know that used to be my friends favorite restaurant) for only $2!!!  Granted they have a stipulation that you have to spend $40 while you’re there, but even with the stipulation you would still be spending less than $20 total for a romantic night out on the town!

If you are interested in checking it out, just don’t forget… this sale ends Monday 11/24!!

More garage sales

Today the kids & I went out and while we were out the kids were actually begging me to go to some garage sales.  (Whenever Katie sees a bright colored sign she knows what it means)  We lucked out today by finding a street sale, I always like street sales as then you don’t have to keep getting in and out of the car, you just get out and walk!  Even though this neighborhood had anything you would ever need on sale (kids toys, clothes, books, shoes, baskets, even a couple kitchen sinks we didn’t find to much for us.  It seems like all the kids clothes were either to big or to little.  We did score at one of the sales at all their kids books were only .10 each!  So needless to say we walked away with a handful and the drive home was quiet.  (just what Momma likes!)

My Deals for today!!

There is a greenhouse close to my house that sometimes once a year will sell retail, but some years they don’t so you can’t rely on it.  Today I drove by and sure enough they had some plants by the road for $5 each!!  So this is what I got for $10 today!!!

What a good Sunday I had!

It all started out with the kids & I going to church for the 1st time as a family.  I went to church growing up, but then when I moved out I started missing a Sunday here & there and then after awhile I wasn’t going anymore.

For quite sometime I’ve been feeling like something has been missing in my life and thought about finding a new church (one closer to where I currently live) but the timing wasn’t right for me.   This year Kevin started Preschool and we are sending him to a Christian Preschool.  He is so excited learning about Jesus and has been asking me questions.  Then Katie got a Bible for Christmas from my In-laws and she just LOVES it.  For awhile she wouldn’t go ANYWHERE with out it.

I asked the kids if they wanted to start going to church and they both said YES with so much excitement that I knew with out a doubt the time is now right.

So today we went and I’m happy to say all 3 of us had a wonderful experience.  When we were leaving Church I asked the kids if they wanted to come back next Sunday and Kevin’s response was Yes!  Can we come back tomorrow?

After church I got to have the day to myself and went shopping with one of my friends.  Needless to say I spent some money today thanks to JC Pennys sale they have going on right now.  It was buy one get one for .88!!  Then today only they gave you and extra 20% off!!  So I was able to get some much needed clothes.

How was your Sunday?  Hopefully it was as good as mine was!
