Aloha Friday #41
If you’ve never seen Aloha Friday then here is the run down from Island Life….
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought on Fridays I would take it easy on posting too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
If you would like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave the link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participates! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
Now on to my question of the week:
It seems like this weekend is an 80′s come back since there are 2 remakes hitting movie theaters this weekend… The Karate Kid & The A-Team! What 80′s show or movie would you like to see a remake of?
Even though my first show was more in the 70′s, I’m still going to pick it as my number one and that would be Little House on the Prairie! I just LOVED that show. I would be happy if they just had reruns of it on normal television. My other choices would be Happy Days, Cosby Show and as weird as this may sound Golden Girls. LOL

Weekends
Everyone loves the weekends, but I do have to say there is one thing about the weekends I really don’t care for and that’s because during the day it seems like there isn’t anything on television. Unless you like sports or infomercials about the newest weight loss item, whether it be the latest exercise machine, DVD or diet pills I’m sure you would have to agree with me on this.
Just another reason why I’m glad it’s warming up outside because then we will be to busy playing outside to realize nothing is on tv!
Reality shows
After watching the Bachelor this season we all can attest that at least some of what happened this year was scripted even though the people on the show will say it’s not. Then I found out on The Biggest Loser that parts of that was scripted as well!
According to TV guide.com when Dane left the show, he went back home and started getting ready to complete a marathon! But after the episode aired with his “where are they now?” piece, it showed him crossing the finish line with a time of 3:53, it was revealed that it was actually 5:53, and that he had been driven three of those miles to finish in under six hours!
According to the interview, after the race Dane did go back and ran the 3 miles to say he indeed did do the whole 26 miles, he wasn’t going to let the producers take that away from him as he never cared what his time was, he just wanted to say he did it.
Now it gets me wondering. I know these people work hard when they are on campus, but do you ever wonder if when they go home they continue to work hard, but might also take some weight loss pills because they want to win some of that money? I would like to hope not, but why could I see some producers saying we want a big upset and we want you to win, just take some of these when you’re home. I really hope they never stoop down to that level!
The Bachelorette
I used to watch the Bachelor, but got bummed that none of them ever worked out and quit watching them for awhile. Then last year with Brad I started watching it again in hopes of watching love grow on tv to have Brad turn down BOTH ladies. Now this season DeAnna (one of the final two ladies Brad turned away) is back to find her true love. I thought I would give it a little bit tonight to see what the guys she had to choose from looked like and needless to say I might be hooked for the long haul.
I think she chose some good men to stay, but was kinda bummed some of the ones I thought seemed nice got sent away. Of course I wasn’t there to see the real way the night went down either.. just what then want to show us. I don’t have a favorite yet, but there are a few that are my top choices. I don’t want to name any names yet as it’s early in the show, but I already can’t wait till next week to see how things start to unravel.
Did you watch The Bachelorette tonight? Do you have a favorite yet?
TV Shows
UGH!! I’m so frustrated right now! Paul and I enjoy watching Men In Trees and every Wednesday we couldn’t wait till 10pm hoping it would be back on. We would get all excited and sit down to turn on the TV and have it not be on. So I went to ABC’s website today and looked up their Men in Tree’s message board to see when it will be coming back on and guess what I found…. it got axed!! What the heck?!? Not only that show, but these as well…
Sitcoms:Cavemen, Carpoolers, Miss-Guided and Notes From the Underbelly
Dramas: Men In Trees, October Road, Big Shots, Cashmere Mafia and Women’s Murder Club
Non-scripted: Just For Laughs and Oprah’s Big Give.
All I know is if they replace them for those stupid game shows I’m really going to be mad! Worse than I am right now!!
Biggest Loser Results!!
First off can I just say.. WOOHOO!!! I’m so happy with the results on the show tonight. Everyone looked amazing! I was so excited when Bernie won the 100k and then to win it by ONE pound! Like they kept saying all alone.. this is the year of the pound as many of them got booted due to one pound.
Then to have Ali win tonight was awesome!! When I found out she was going against Roger I was a little worried as he had so much to lose and lost quite a bit! Then when it came up that she had lost 112 lbs! WOW!! You can tell she is a new woman.. she is just all smiles and it’s so awesome to see how they all changed for the better.
All I know is I can’t wait for tomorrow so I can go walk & ride my bike some more. They say it’s suppose to be 68 degrees tomorrow so I have a feeling we will be outside doing a lot!
Biggest Loser on tonight!!
Is there any other Biggest Loser fans out there?!? I would have to say that’s one of my favorite reality shows there is. (Besides Amazing Race) I just love watching these people lose weight as it motivates me into trying a little harder. It’s kinda funny because that’s the only show that during commercials I’ll do jumping jacks or jog in place instead of walking to the kitchen to see what’s in the refrigerator. I already am amazing at Ali & Mark’s weight loss thinking can they really lose that much more? It will be fun to see them all again at the finale!
