As you can read from my previous posts we didn’t have the best of weekends due to Kevin’s strep throat. Sunday night he actually wanted pizza, but I knew there was no way he could eat something like that as putting a popsicle up to his lips would make him hurt. So I looked to see what we had in the house and make some personal pizza’s by taking some buns and putting pizza sauce & mozzarella cheese on them. I was right.. Kevin couldn’t eat them, but Katie did and like them. Then yesterday Kevin started eating again and requested I make the pizza sandwich again so I did and he loved it too! So since I got 2 thumbs up I thought I would post it here in case your little ones are wanting pizza and you don’t have that in the house to make…

Ingredients:

Package of hamburger buns (hot dog would work too)

Pizza Sauce

Mozzarella Cheese

Whatever other toppings you would like.. we ended up putting 2 pieces of Pepperoni on each one last night

Directions:

Put some sauce on each bun and then top with your toppings

Place them in the oven and bake until cheese is melted. (I had the oven set at 350 degrees)

enjoy!

I just wish our government would take their time and make sure the new health care reform bill is what we truly need and not just a bill pushed through because they want to be in the history books as the ones who passed a health care reform bill. What’s sad is President Obama had said “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president”. My question is.. if you are truly a really good president, wouldn’t you will be voted in office a second time? The only reason why a one term president would be only one term would because they did something that ended up hurting more Americans than helped. (For example… his stimulus bill) While we do need a health reform bill, this bill they are pushing down our throats is not the bill we need!

Every day more and more Americans are loosing their jobs and what does that mean? More and more Americans are loosing their health care (which I honestly think our government is happy for because the more people with out it the easier it will be to pass the bill) so my other question is why not work more on what we can do to start more jobs? After all, if people started getting jobs, than more than likely they would have health insurance once again.

By looking at Unemployment averages from last year Michigan topped all the other states with an average of 13.6% and last I knew we were now getting close to (if not at) 15%! I was talking to my friend the other day because they are debating on buying a business and we started talking about the small business tax here in Michigan and she flat out said that her friend who owns a heating & cooling business would love to hire a couple people, but unfortunately it’s the taxes that are keeping him from doing that. I never really knew how bad they were until I had to claim the money I made this year from blogging as a business. They ended up taking over 45% of what I made! When I see that on just the little bit I made (under $2000), I can’t imagine how much they take out from businesses that are make a lot. Do they get hit harder like the income tax where the more you make, the higher the tax bracket you are in. All I know is, after seeing how much taxes they are taking from me is making me think twice about trying to make money by blogging because I’m trying to think is it really worth it?

Something I think the Government could be doing for the health care would be to spend time finding and taking care of all the fraud that is going on in their other programs like Medicare and social security disability. How many millions/billions are being paid to people they should be? Here is one example.. last year four Raleigh students were charged with scamming $12 million since 2007 from false Medicare claims for the motorized scooters, powered wheelchairs.. etc. To think.. that’s just 4 people! Later on in the article it said…

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the Inspector General reported in May that more than 10 percent of the $920 million Medicare paid in 2005 for powered wheelchairs had been misspent.

That’s just in 2005 and just on powered wheelchairs! How bad was it in 2006, 2007, 2008 or even last year? Also how bad is it on things other than just powered wheelchairs? Just by stopping that kind of fraud we could probably pay for the insurance of all the people that are with out and not have to start another Government agency! It’s so funny how everyone running for office (Republicans & Democrats) say we need smaller Government, but what will be happening when this Health Care bill passes? Yup, once again the Government will get bigger and bigger! When will this madness stop?

How many times a week does your boyfriend or husband end up finding themselves in the dog house? If he’s anything like mine, he tends to find himself there more often than he does inside the house. Of course maybe it feels like that for me right now because like his t-shirt says… I put this marriage on hold for deer season.

Because my dear husband finds himself in the dog house quite often I thought it was funny when I was chosen to review a website that gives tips for guys on what to buy women if you screw up or because it’s a special occasion (Anniversary, Birth, Birthday.. etc).

When I first heard about this site I thought how tacky it would be trying to help guys get out of the dog house when they did something wrong. After looking at it though I think they had some really good tips as I think that guys really don’t think about how to make their girlfriend or wife feel special.

Bella True has 9 different sections in the Tips for Guys and the one I actually liked the best was The Big Four: A Guide. Reason being is because it helps guys know what to choose. For example… Choosing Earrings. They explain why guys tend to buy earrings as the first jewelry they buy because it’s actually affordable! Even if a woman isn’t a jewelry person (like me) there are times where you just have to dress up and adding earrings to your outfit actually can dress it up really nice!

Then they talk about choosing a necklace and how it’s the romantic gesture because us women love the moment you lean in to fasten it around our neck and put our hair back in place. After choosing the necklace they talk about choosing a ring and how you have to be careful because rings are quite symbolic and if your not quite ready for any kind of commitment and still want to get a ring to score those major brownie points then you should look at getting a cocktail ring (never knew that’s what they were called) as they are bigger, colorful and more elaborate. But if you are just looking for something fun and non-committal, then they have the section on how to choose a bracelet! The great thing about them is every time us women look down and see it we will think of you!

I found it fun reading their advice because I never really thought about it until I read it and realized they actually hit the nail on the head! So if you’re a guy and would love to make their lady feel special, just check out the links above. You just might find a good tip on how to do that.

I swear colleges and universities keep coming up with new programs every year. I had never heard of getting a Master of Science in Information Security let alone getting an online MS in Information Security!

If you are like me you are thinking.. ok what is a Master of Science in Information Security? Well, I found out that it is something I would be interested in as it’s actually what it says it is. It’s a program that explores the theory and practice of IT security on a global scale!

Here I know we all need virus catchers on our computers, but beyond that I’m not sure what all I should have on my computer. How wonderful would it be to be able to take an online course where I would know with out a doubt how to keep my computer safe from hackers! Every time I hear of another virus going around it just upsets me as I wish people had better things to do than ruin other people’s lives like that.

So if you’re like me and would be interested get getting your master of science in information security check out the Lewis University Online course. With it being online the classes are flexible, they have comprehensive coursework that will go in depth the technical & societal aspects of data security and they are also suppose to be affordable!

When you try to lose weight, do you ever try loosing weight with a friend? That’s what I always tend to do, except my problem is when one of us falls off the wagon the other tends to fall too instead of pulling the other one back on the wagon. What I’m really considering is actually joining one of the 2 local fitness places (just not sure which one) in hopes that maybe, just maybe since both kids will be in school this year I could end up going when they are at school to work out! That way I wouldn’t have to try and find a baby sitter for them and would be less apt to actually try taking something like lipofuze because I think if/when I start working out I’m going to start feeling better about myself again and when I do feel good about myself everything tends to just fall in place then and I watch what I eat and start loosing weight.

Goodness.. just writing about this makes me want to start going already!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought on Fridays I would take it easy on posting too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you would like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave the link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participates! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Now on to my question of the week:

What is one thing you would be willing to sacrifice to be debt free?

I heard this question on Dave Ramsey’s show the other day and loved it as it sure makes you think. Paul and I dropped our cable to basic cable, took all features (including long distance) off our phone, for cell phones just use prepaid only, we drive older cars (95′ & 97′) so we can just have PLPD on them, Also most of the kids clothes are toys were bought at garage sales!

Because of doing simple things like that we ended up paying off our house today! (Sent the check overnight and they already cashed it so online it shows we owe NOTHING!)

Do you follow a certain diet plan to lose weight? Or did you search for the best diet pill that you could find and use that?

My friend and I started trying to lose weight again and I was suppose to be keeping track of my points doing it the weight watchers way, but I’ve been really bad on figuring out my points and writing them down and it’s showing as I’ve only lost 1 pound in 2 weeks time.

My parents are currently doing the Atkins diet and are once again feeling a lot better now that they are on it and have cut out all that junk food. I was hoping that us cutting out the junk food here would of helped me, but since we still have the Sun Chips in the house (Paul just HAS to have chips) I must be snacking on them a little to much.

My goal this week is to write down everything I eat and to also get out and exercise! Wish me luck and hopefully next week I’ll have some good news that I’ve lost some poundage!
