Rain, Snow, Cold.. go away!
Where oh where is our Indian summer? Usually the beginning of October we always have an Indian summer where it warms back up for a little while, but so far there has been none of that. Instead it’s been quite chilly here…. chilly enough where we actually have the furnace turned on at night. This week it was in the high 50′s and I didn’t hear it, but one of my friends said on the news they said a possibility of the snow next week! WHAT?!? I am so not ready for that! I LOVE fall, I love the colors changing on the trees, I love the smell (yes there is a certain smell for me), I love the warmer days and cooler nights, I love the sounds of football games and marching bands, but I do NOT love this fall as it’s been cold and rainy and now a chance of SNOW!
I have found myself looking at vacation sites wishing that we could go on a cancun vacation or at least some place nice and warm! This sitting here shivering is for the birds! Wait.. didn’t I see some flying south not to long ago too! See, even they know it’s to chilly up here and going south would is a better idea!!
Just a little windy
Monday was quite windy here in west Michigan and since the weathermen said that the waves at the lake shore were suppose to be 14 footers, Paul and I packed the kids up and off we went. It was a little weird because we live about 30 minutes from Grand Haven and it really wasn’t crazy windy at our house, but the closer we got to the lake shorethe windier it got. At one point when I was video taping I saw this big wave coming and I knew there was nothing I could do and ended up getting drenched! Needless to say I actually had one person honk and wave at me as I stood there dripping and some others applaud me. I keep think…. will I see myself on youtube taking that direct hit?
Anyways, here is a video I took of how windy it was at the Grand Haven Pier.
It’s coming and I’m so excited!!
You’re probably wondering what’s coming… and I’m happy to say Spring is coming!! Up here in Michigan we have still be having some chilly days, but I’m so happy so say we had a beautiful day today! The sun was out and I was able to go outside in just a flannel shirt with NO COAT! If felt so wonderful and then to see more tulips starting to pop through the ground and hearing the birds chirping make it feel even better! Now if the grass could start turning green and seeing the buds pop on the trees, life would be even better!
Perseid meteor shower
I just found this out and wanted to share!! August 12th around 2am if you look up in the sky you could see the Perseids Meteror shower and it should be visible until dawn! If I remember (which I probably will as I know our weathermen/women will be reminding us) I’ll be out there watching it and thought maybe you might want to too!
